gay fellows (and gals) who are there to "see how the other half lives."
If we wish to be so exclusive and away from the law and discrimination, why don't we chip in and buy ourselves an island somewhere and build our own colony-where we can do as we please whenever we please. The reason is simple-it isn't possible. Perfection, though impossible to achieve, remains a goal for many. It is something to work toward.
While we may not care to go "straight," or intend to, we don't have to scream at the top of our lungs that we want our own gay bars. While we need companionship we don't
may
have to seek it only at the bars. There are other ways, and they should be used.
If we'd only learn to conduct ourselves as people, not freaks, then we'd all be the better for it. It appears that this is asking too much, however.
Can't we live among the heterosexual world just as they live with us? Can't we learn to EARN the recognition and understanding of society (of which, incidentally, we are а part) instead of banging our spoon on the table like a spoiled child?
Should we ever learn this simple lesson, half the battle will be won. Anyone interested in trying?
